Deception Update - County Agreement Progressing

Quick Update on Deception and bits...

1. Williams County Drafted an Agreement using ARRs standard agreements, this was reviewed by ARR and IMBA with very minor verbiage revisions. Wilco is expected to approve it very soon.
2. Commuter corridor survey has begun at the far east of end Deception, just after the composite BCRT bridge. This is planned to be a commuter trail that connects the BCRT to the Lakeline Metro Stn. it will run west of and parallel to the rail road tracks.
3. Avery Ranch corridor at double track survey has also begun. It is not know if this will be concrete or granite, ADA or not, switchbacks or straight down.
4. The Rim/Dave's Connector Reroute has been approved and the reroute will begin soon.
5. As of this morning a few hazardous trees (downed or coming down) along Picnic have been remove and the little jump session cut over has been reclaimed and blocked - please don't reopen or create a new one.
6. BCB Trail Crew will be working on a signage plan next week.
7. BCB Trail Crew will be working with EMS to work an an Emergency Action Plan.

Once the agreement is signed we expect to start moving quickly on getting the signs on the trail.

Changes you may see - this will not be immediate, it may be weeks or months:

a) some trail heads may have "gates" to slow riders down before entering the BCRT. The plan is for these gates to require very slow negotiation, but not require dismounting. Where needed nature fencing will be added to prevent ride around
b) a new entrance to Deception to be located just after the composite bridge - rerouting the fall line - this is dependent on the information we find out about the commuter corridor.
c) the far west end of Deception will likely cross the future neighborhood trail and run parallel to the what is now the existing double track - before the large berm it will veer left to connect with The Rim - the plan is to provide a continuous single track from Deception to The Rim without the need to go to the BCRT or the small path that currently runs right beside it.

PLEASE do not unblock any areas, uncover reclaimed tread, create new trails or new features. If you suspect an area has been blocked or unblocked or believe there is unauthorized building or areas needing attention please email deception@austinridgeriders.com
