ARR, BCB (trail builders) met with Wilco P&R plus the county commissioner this morning for a very productive mtg. The course of action was decided to formalize the agreement between ARR and the county.
The commissioner plans to take the item to the commissioner court for final voting approval, but the outcome appears to be favorable.
Signage, public awareness, EMS planning and long-term usage are the objectives.
We believe the signage and public awareness will go a long way with keeping people safer and more educated about the trail use, trail etiquette, help prevent unauthorized modifications and building.
The commissioner also recognizes that the public awareness and official recognition will lead to higher use that will ultimately require MORE such trails and we opened that discussion as well.
Wilco also asked for us to be involved in the planning for the upcoming BCRT extension into RR. They want us to consult with the development.
