Deception is a 100% rider designed and built trail. The trail is in the process of becoming an official trail of the Williamson County Parks and Rec and is an Austin Ridge Rider supported trail. The designers and builders will continue to be the primary trail stewards and are official volunteers for Wilco and Trail Stewards for ARR.
Deception is NOT Walnut Creek and it's not meant to be EASY - do not modify the trail, elevate YOUR skills.
Trail report!!! Chad Josh and l did some trail maintenance today. At sponge bob we removed some rocks that were blocking the flow of water creating standing water on the trail. We also graded it so the water would flow better. We armored this section with flat rocks and created a channel for water to flow through. It maybe a bit squishy so ride with care.
We knocked down the dirt on two turns that were still holding water you will notice that these sections have fresh gravel type dirt. Tread lightly if possible to let these areas dry out should be awesome after we get some wheels on it just take it slow till it packs in.
Finally we built a tasty berm at testy. This is rideable just we ask that you don't try to rail it it's still soft and we need a good rain to pack it in
