Show your support for your trail

Recently the Williamson County (Wilco) Parks and Rec Director Randy Bell visited the western portion of the trail. He left behind a calling card. Considering the history of the trail, knowing that it's a trail created by the public and for the public, but without the expressed permission of the county, the trail supporters deem it prudent to get the backing of the users before the trail builders contact Mr. Bell personally.

If you have not already, please do so:
Please call or email, state that you saw the note and wanted to voice your support for the trail. 512-943-1922 parks&rec@wilco.org

As of this posting the trail builders have attempted to contact Mr. Bell on 4 occasions. He is a very busy man and they have been informed of him being in mtgs on 2 of those occasions and they received no answer on 2 others.

So far, from social media and other sources the support has been overwhelming and Mr. Bell sounds very reasonable and has a positive outlook on the trail. He is not out to "bust" our beloved trail builders, but instead want to ensure that building is done within the structure and has the approval of the county. This is completely understandable.

I have been assured that the trail builders have completely ceased trail building and planning. It is also their sincere desire that any additional building by others is not done. The builders plan to respect the wishes and the decision of Wilco.

There may come a time when the very western most portion of the trail is blocked off and obscured. This area does come into contact with the housing development (not started) property. The trail builders are going to ask for Mr. Bell's permission to do this. They believe it will also alleviate the complaints of one known individual with no love for the trail.
