New Map - Feature and Section Names Labeled

Excuse my elementary school skills here, but I tried to throw down a map with some labels. I started running out of crayons, so next time I will just put numbers and a key on it.

This should help though. I did not get into labeling the Ravine Drop and beyond (Satellite, Snot Rock, Slick Rock, Grotto, Cradle, etc), but I will in the future.

Strava says it was 3.5 from the end to trail head, but even with the iPhone 4S I definitely see discrepancies, I am fairly certain we have 4 miles to the tool stash of of yesterday.

With what Mike, Josh and I worked recently we have probably 4.25 miles.

I will be out on Tuesday for a few hours, hopefully 4/4:30 to dark.

  2. Holy crap, it triplicated. I deleted the 2 extras and they are back again. I'll do a bit of troubleshooting after my next mtg. Josh, what kind of device or browser are you using?

  4. I think it's somehow your browser submitting the blogs multiple times. Does this only happen when you add comments via mobile? You tried downloading and using the blogger app for Android?

  6. Well, I went out today on a forced 2 hour ride. Turns out I snapped off my rear derailleur hanger and threw my derailleur into my newly trued rear wheel. I removed the derailleur and thought about cutting my chain to single speed length to beast out some more riding, but it happened near the tool stash so I worked for about an hour in full kit and blown mtn. bike shoes.

Josh, you're a beast man. I came behind and got some of the limbs packed away off the future tread and forced my "comfortable corridor" M.O. on some of it, but you did 99.9% of a LOT of cutting. Awesome job. Grown man style stuff.

Sounds like Eric and I will be out tomorrow PM. I'm planning on 2:30 (hopefully before)...maybe 3pm arrival to the tool stash. If the tubes I put in my Cannondale do not hold air overnight, then I'll skip riding at all and just park near satellite to work the whole time. Today's ride (or lack thereof) left me needing a bit more, so I'm hoping to beast the beatass Cannondale through an out-n-back.

Perhaps Eric and I will specialize tomorrow and I'll take tread while he flags....I dunno.

    2. Marty - did you post this from a mobile device via a web browser? Asking because it duplicated (i removed the dupe). You might want to use the blogger app for whatever OS/Device you have, it seems mobile browser tend to duplicate comments.

    3. I am hoping to be on my bike by 4:30PM today at the latest, riding in from Sports Park, so 30 mins to the trail end. I will have lights so I plan to work til dark before heading out. Day after full moon will provide bonus light. I'll have an extra light if one of you stick around and need it.

I am tempted to go back and scout out and flag the reroute to add the bonus before the Plunge. Josh can do the treading during the day time when his scraping noise is less likely to cause a ruckus. This is a pretty rocky area close to houses, the first hundred yards is a rock field ... we could take the approach of just moving the larger rocks (baby heads) and see if the trail can just be ridden in. The series of small ravines and rocks in this area will make for an interesting bonus - much like The Trap.

The Plunge Bonus should be pretty easy for me to scout and flag, and since Mike and I are out of town this weekend it will provide a flagged area to be worked. I can get it started today and finished Friday morning (very likely I will be taking Fri off). I could probably cut any remaining corridor for it too.
